[VIDEO] Andrei Arlovski vs. Tim Sylvia 4 at One FC 5
In case you missed it, and most likely you did, the fourth meeting between Andrei Arlovski and Tim Sylvia ended quite controversially.
After a competitive first round, Arlovski would move in for the kill in the second, and seemingly win. You will see a couple of soccer kicks and say “hey, that’s illegal!” Well, yes and no. They are legal in One FC, but only when a ref gives the go-ahead. The ref didn’t signal anything, but “The Pit Bull” was already out for blood and finished the job.
However, the fight is now ruled a No Contest because of this. If you ask me, Sylvia was done before those kicks. And, if you ask me, either allow soccer kicks or don’t. A fighter having to wait on a ref to give a signal that “open attack” is green is just ridiculous. Split seconds are what a fighter lives on. No way anyone should allow a downed opponent ANY time to recover waiting on someone who is not even in the fight to make a call. Anyway, enjoy the fight:
