I was asked to write this piece by a friend of mine. We were firing a few banter filled tweets back and forth on Twitter (where else does one tweet?) and he suggested I write an article for the website he works on. It quickly turned out that he was talking total bollocks (I’m British, bollocks are balls). By this point he had already peaked my interest and I thought I’d just fire out 1,000 or so words on the subject that he’d chosen for me; TRT. I absolutely love a bit of TRT in MMA chat so I was on this like holes on the o-zone. Read More »
On Tuesday’s “UFC Tonight” on Fuel TV, Ariel Helwani said Nick Diaz’s legal representative, Jonathan Tweedale, confirmed that Diaz is determined to stay retired this time around unless he gets a fight with Georges St-Pierre or Anderson Silva. “As for Nick Diaz and his fighting future, I asked Tweedale that question, and he said, ‘Right now, he’s retired, unless he gets a rematch with Georges St-Pierre or the big Anderson Silva fight.’ Apparently if he doesn’t get those fights, he is going to remain retired.” Yeah, I don’t see either of those fights happening so I guess the older Diaz brother will stay shelved this time. I have to train, you know, to make a great show for the fans.” On Georges St-Pierre: “I did not see his last fight, but I think [he is] a great strategist. Fight’s within the rules. It is nothing too abnormal. He’s a complete guy, but he struggles with the very rule of the sport. He knows how Read More »
Head coach of Georges St-Pierre, Firas Zahabi spoke to Sherdog Radio’s ‘Cheap Seats’ about GSP’s future and whether St-Pierre is less likely than other champions to be fighting when he’s 35 years old. “I think so because his training camps are not sustainable forever. His training camps are very difficult. I’ve done a lot of training camps. I could tell you the energy, time and money and hours spent doing a GSP training camp is ridiculous. It’s borderline insane. There’s a lot of effort going into preparing him for his fights. Can he live this lifestyle for another four or five years? I don’t know. Because it’s not a balanced lifestyle. It’s not a balanced Read More »
